Welcome to the City of Longevity

How cities can become the proactive actor to support healthy longevity.

A City of Longevity is an innovative urban framework that uses technology, data analytics, and citizen engagement to promote healthier, longer lives through preventive measures, while optimizing city resources and addressing the challenges of aging populations in urban environments.
Time

A City of Longevity is a knowledge-based system that leverages technology and human understanding to optimize city resources and provide real-time insights through citizen engagement. This concept has become crucial as cities are projected to house two-thirds of the global population by 2050, including over two billion people aged 60+.

The initiative, launched in July 2023 with participation from multiple international cities, is a program designed to leverage proactive rather than reactive approaches to healthy aging with the city as the core actor and promoter of these actions.

The program emphasizes understanding the ’exposome’ (environmental factors) and its impact on human flourishing. It uses data analytics and interconnected systems to promote preventive health measures and positive behavioural changes.

The City of Longevity toolkit helps educate citizens and policymakers while facilitating the design of practical interventions, aiming to create standardized, sharable solutions for healthy longevity in urban environments.
