Olivia Al-Slaiman (she/her) is a graduate student in Culture and Media Management at Freie Universität Berlin. She studied Theater, Film, and Media Studies, and Musicology in Frankfurt and Vienna and holds a B.A. from Goethe-University Frankfurt.

With a background in classical music, Olivia has worked as a project manager for various art institutions and classical music festivals in Germany and Austria. She has worked in Artistic Planning and Production at Wiener Konzerthaus, organizing numerous concerts, festivals, readings, and workshops, and has been involved in music education projects, most recently at Berlin Philharmonic. Furthermore, Olivia has been part of several student-led arts and culture initiatives, organizing and assisting with every kind of event, from theater and opera productions to aftershow parties. She has also been a writer and editor for the Rockenhausen New Music Festival.

Her research primarily focuses on matters of representation and mechanisms of exclusion in art institutions as well as manifestations of colonialism in music and research, connecting her passion for working in the arts with her interest in practice-based research approaches.
