Victoria Juretko

Victoria Juretko is a product designer and researcher whose work explores the intersection of design, healthcare, and social innovation. Her research investigates how feminist design can challenge established medical practices and contribute to more equitable healthcare systems. Focusing on women’s health and gender-sensitive medicine, she combines practice-based design research with clinical collaboration to develop medical devices that enable patient autonomy, dignity, and the overall healthcare experience. She is the founder of the Peva Project and the inventor of the PEA Speculum, a redesigned vaginal speculum developed through interdisciplinary research in collaboration with healthcare professionals and patients. Originating from her Master’s thesis in Industrial Design, ICDP, Academy of Art and Design Basel FHNW (2024), the project has received national recognition through research funding, design awards, and clinical collaborations in Switzerland. Juretko holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design HGK Basel FHNW (2024) and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the University of Applied Sciences Berlin (2022).
At metaLAB Basel, she conducts an SNF BRIDGE Proof of Concept project (2026–2027), advancing the clinical translation of the PEA Speculum. Her research contributes to Basel’s focus on FemTech, inclusive design, and the future of healthcare by investigating how design-driven innovation can improve medical technologies and patient experiences.
