Before moving to Harvard in 2011, Jeffrey Schnapp occupied the Rosina Pierotti Chair of Italian Studies at Stanford, where he founded and led the Stanford Humanities Lab between 1999 and 2009. A cultural historian, designer, curator, and technologist with research interests extending from antiquity to the present, his books include The Electric Information Age Book, Modernitalia, Digital_Humanities (mitpress.mit.edu/9780262528863…, The Library Beyond the Book (hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?is…) and two translations/editions of books by Bruno Munari: Fantasy (inventorypress.com/product/fan…) and Design and Visual Communication. Forthcoming with Zone Books is Quickening. An Anthropology of Speed, along with a third and final volume in his trilogy of edition/translations of works by Bruno Munari: the first English translation/edition of Da cosa nasce cosa (One Thing Leads to Another), forthcoming with Inventory Books (Los Angeles). At Harvard, Schnapp occupies the Carl A. Pescosolido Chair in Romance and Comparative Literatures, while also serving as an affiliate of the Architecture department at the Graduate School of Design and as one of the faculty co-directors of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society.
