Investigating the power of images!

Claire is a research affiliate at metaLAB doing research on image perception in the field of art, design and psychology. Her current focus consists of analyzing interaction processes between images and their effects on emotional reactions in the viewer. She works and teaches as a senior researcher at the Academy of Art and Design FHNW in Basel, Switzerland.

Claire completed her training as a graphic designer at the Basel School of Design and worked in various design agencies as well as a freelance designer in the LaRed collective. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus on visual perception and a master’s degree in visual communication and iconic research. Claire received her PhD in empirical aesthetics, researching the effects of image presentation.
