As a Computer Science and Mathematics double major with a prospective minor in Psychology at Swarthmore College, Bereket Nigussie loves merging theory with hands-on projects. He’s worked on exciting endeavors like “Clustered,” which marries data visualization with cluster farming strategies. This summer, he joins metaLAB via the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society’s 2023 Internship Program to explore the crossroads of education and artificial intelligence. The project aims to develop a robust, online AI resource that sheds light on critical and ethical dimensions of AI learning. Outside his studies, Bereket pours his heart into the Swarthmore community. Serving as a liaison for the Black Cultural Center and InterCultural Center, he supports numerous student-run clubs, fostering inclusivity and a sense of community.
